Meet Dr. Simpson

Richard W. Simpson V, DMD

Welcome to our practice!  I wanted a challenging profession that would allow me to help others while making a living for my family. Being in the healthcare field is a great opportunity to share my Christian faith as well. I love the opportunity to connect with patients and I am passionate about providing quality dental care. To me, this means taking my time and doing things right the first time. I enjoy seeing our patients learn how to maintain their oral health, overcome dental fears or anxiety, and achieve dental success for years.

My primary goal is providing the best dentistry possible. The reward is being able to come home from work knowing I helped improve my patient’s quality of life, their oral health, and their self-confidence.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Doctorate of Dental Medicine – Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry
  • Bachelor of Science in Biology – Georgia Southern University

Maintaining dental licenses in both South Carolina and Georgia requires numerous hours of continuing education, which keeps me current on the latest techniques and procedures in dentistry. I am a fan of anything that could enhance patient care and am constantly striving to keep my knowledge up-to-date. I am especially interested in learning about techniques that combine proven dental treatments with innovative technology and research in the ever-evolving dental profession.

In the Office

I feel honored to be able to provide quality dental care to the families of North Augusta and our surrounding area. Our office goal is to provide quality, comfortable, and honest dental care. We always keep the patient's best interest at heart and help them make the best possible decisions to maintain their oral health.

Every day, I strive to make patients feel comfortable, relaxed, and appreciated while receiving quality dentistry. I work to connect with my patients on a personal level. So many people have high anxiety when it comes to their dental care, my hope is that they will come to enjoy and even look forward to their appointments at my office.

I especially love the challenge of treating patients who have multiple dental problems. I take full advantage of the newest developments in the field of dentistry. I am also very fortunate to have the support of an incredible and experienced team. I have been very impressed with the professionalism of my team members and their genuine desire to do the right thing for our patients. Getting to know our patients and their families and seeing their dental health improve makes the hard work worth every minute.

Outside the Office

I am originally from Stone Mountain, Georgia, but my wife Jaime and I decided to settle in the Augusta area during our time in dental school at MCG. We love the small town feel of the Augusta area but enjoy all the entertainment, activities, and restaurants the area has to offer! Our family loves the community and we look forward to raising our family here. We have two daughters, Avery (15), Tessa (11), and two Western Highland terrier brothers, Hops and Ollie, who are both three years old.

As a family, we stay busy with our kids’ activities (golf, flag football, and cheerleading), traveling, cooking, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Our family loves being involved in our community, serving God, and helping others. We attend Journey Community Church. We support several charities including Christ Community Health Clinic, WAFJ Christian Radio, Samaritan's Purse, and the Tim Tebow Foundation. We also love volunteering and supporting the Brett Boyer Foundation, which raises awareness of congenital heart disease and funds research to advance treatment options.

We look forward to meeting you and your family soon!
